Dry Mounting & Laminating Art Prints

We offer you the choice to Dry Mount your art prints onto:

  • Foamboard – Regular, Black, Acid Free or Archival
  • Mounting Board – 2 Ply, 4 Ply or 6 Ply
  • Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF)

Dry mounting is a permanent mounting process where inexpensive art prints, movie posters, or other paper based mediums are glued to a mounting board using heat and pressure. The standard mounting board is usually foam core, but other mounting boards are available. How it works: A tissue adhesive is placed between the art and the mounting board, inserted into a vacuum press and heated up to activate the adhesive while the press applies pressure. This process is highly recommended for rolled art mediums or posters that have wrinkles, creases, or if the aesthetic appearance warrants it to be flat. Please note that if a piece of art is to be conservation framed, dry mounting is not recommended, as it would adversely affect the value of the art.

MOUNTING & LAMINATING

Plaque Mount: This is the most standard way plaque mounts are made. It stays flat against the wall with a keyhole notch on the back for hanging.

Box / Flush Mount: This plaque mount has an additional 1" deep wooden-frame added onto the back that gives it a canvas-style look. The plaque is pushed forward rather than being flush against the wall.

It is an alternative mounting process where your image is dry mounted onto Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF), and then sealed under heat and pressure with 80% UV protective matte finish vinyl lamination. It is finished with a beveled edge in your choice of available colors. The final result is a non–glare, easy to clean, professional looking product at a fraction of the cost of traditional custom framing.
